On May 6, a film crew from the television program Vroege Vogels visited ’s-Hertogenbosch to film on the Binnendieze. Together with skipper Marion van den Broek, they took the Historical Boat Tour as part of a new episode of the popular nature program.
The creators specifically chose the Binnendieze as the backdrop for the episode’s opening. From the water, the city shows a completely different side of itself. Not only does the rich history of the centuries-old waterway come to life here, but nature also plays an important role.
Nature in the city
Unique wall plants grow along the banks and city walls, bats find shelter in the vaulted sections, and various bird species can be spotted on and around the water.
During the boat tour, Marion spoke enthusiastically about the natural value of the Binnendieze and its connection to the adjacent Bossche Broek. After filming on the Binnendieze, the crew moved on to the Bossche Broek for filming with Staatsbosbeheer.
Broadcast
Curious about the result? The Vroege Vogels episode will be broadcast on Sunday, June 7, at 7:25 PM on NPO 2.
