Theme walk: The waters of Den Bosch
- ± 2 hours
'From Swamp Dragon to Urban Delta'
Discover how water protected ‘s-Hertogenbosch for centuries, allowed it to grow, and still shapes it today. During this special walk, you will stroll from Bolwerk Sint Jan to Museum Kruithuis along old fortifications, the Urban Delta, and places where the city’s past, present, and future meet.
Along the way, you will not only hear a great story about the past but also about the water of today and the future. How do we ensure safe drinking water? What role do water boards play? And why is water management so important again today? This walk shows that the story of the city is still determined by water.
An important part of the route is a visit to Museum Kruithuis, a historical site that perfectly fits the theme of the walk. There is time here for a short break, and you can discover more about the fortress history, the water, and the related exhibitions.
The Den Bosch Water Walk is a surprising tour for anyone who wants to understand ‘s-Hertogenbosch better. You will see the city through different eyes and discover how past, present, and future literally come together here in the water.
