Fortress Boat Tour

Discover the fortress city of 's-Hertogenbosch from the water

From April 1 to October 31, join Kring Vrienden van ‘s-Hertogenbosch to sail along the city’s impressive fortifications. City walls and moats have protected the inhabitants since 1185. During the Fortress boat route, a skipper-guide tells you all about the history, from the first city walls to the attack by Frederik Hendrik in 1629.

*Along the way, you’ll moor at Bastionder, an underground museum featuring a short film and the imposing medieval cannon De Boze Griet. Please note: access is only via a steep staircase; there is no elevator available.*

The tour continues via the Groote Hekel to the mysterious Hellegat, an exciting vaulted section featuring a spectacular light show by Hieronymus Bosch. Not a fan of the long tunnel and prefer a different route? Then choose the Historical boat route or the Hertogstad boat route. Book your boat tour and experience a great story!
