Heat protocol

Heat protocol in effect June 24-26

Temperatures are rising significantly this week – so high that the RIVM has activated the national heat plan. At Kring Vrienden van ’s-Hertogenbosch, we are also taking our responsibility. That is why our heat protocol is coming into effect.

The KNMI has issued a code orange for extreme heat starting this Wednesday at 12:00 PM. The weather warning will apply to the central and southern Netherlands. Read more about code orange here.

All city walks, tower climbs, guided tours, and boat trips on Wednesday June 24, Thursday June 25, and Friday June 26 are cancelled. Museum Kruithuis and Huis van Bosch are also closed to visitors on these days (*). With these tropical temperatures, it is simply not responsible to organize outdoor activities or trips in hot boats. The safety of our guests and volunteers always comes first.

Guests with a reservation will be informed personally. Where possible, we will move the activity to a cooler day or refund the total amount.

(*) Exceptions:
– Huis van Bosch is open on Wednesday morning (group booking)
– The Golden Hour Boat Trip on Friday, June 26 at 7:30 PM will go ahead (sold out)
– The scheduled guided tour in St. John’s Cathedral on Thursday morning, June 25 will go ahead (group booking)
We apologize for the inconvenience. We hope to welcome you back soon to a slightly cooler ’s-Hertogenbosch.
