The ancient fortified city is the central issue of this route. Starting from the attractive and quaint Uilenburg-quarter the boat takes you partially underneath the city towards the Singelgracht.
After going alongside the fortification wall the boat will moor at the Bastion Oranje for a visit to the Bastionder. In this underground museum you will watch a short film about the history of the city. Apart from the medieval cannon “De Boze Griet” (the Angry Bitch) you will also see an excavated roundel, a tower fortress. You will continue your trip through the dark and narrow Hellegat (Hell’s Hole), a long and very dark enclosed waterway.
This route is not suitable for people suffering from claustrophobia or difficulty with walking.
