Hop on with De Blauwe Engelen: free city tour through the city

Are you visiting ’s-Hertogenbosch and looking for an easy way to get around? Then hop on with De Blauwe Engelen – the free electric city shuttles from the Gastvrij ’s-Hertogenbosch Foundation. From November 1st, they run every half hour from the station on a fixed route through the city center. Especially for visitors, with a smile and a touch of city history.

  • Tuesday to Saturday: every 15 minutes, between 9:45 AM and 4:15 PM
  • Sunday (and in winter): every 30 minutes, between 9:45 AM and 2:30 PM
  • No service on Mondays
  • A full loop takes about 30 minutes
  • Max. 8 people per shuttle
  • Transport is at your own risk

Hop on freely, anywhere in the city

De Blauwe Engelen follow a fixed route, but you can hop on and off almost anywhere. See the shuttle coming? Just wave your hand (for example, with the brochure) and the driver will stop for you. Along the way, they often tell you something about the city – sometimes with a nice anecdote. The route passes recognizable spots such as the Museum Quarter, the Parade, Museum Slager, the St. Jansbolwerk, the Zwanenbroedershuis, St. John’s Cathedral, Museum Kruithuis, and the boarding points for our boat tours.

Yes, the city tour by De Blauwe Engelen is free. You can ride along for free in an electric city bus through the city center of ’s-Hertogenbosch. Tips are welcome; these proceeds are used for things like bus maintenance and foundation facilities.

The route starts and ends at Stationsplein in ’s-Hertogenbosch. You can board there, but also along the route whenever you see the bus and the driver can stop safely.

No, reservations are not possible. The city tour works on a hop-on hop-off basis. So you can board if there is space in the bus. A maximum of 8 passengers can ride per bus.

You can hop on along the route and hop off wherever you want, as long as the driver deems it safe. See the bus coming? You can signal with a hand gesture that you would like to ride along.

A full trip takes about half an hour. During the ride, the drivers show important buildings, streets, and sights in the city and tell you about the history of ’s-Hertogenbosch.

The bus does not run on Mondays. The Gastvrij ’s-Hertogenbosch website lists running times per season, with the bus running more frequently in the summer period than in the winter period. Therefore, always check the latest information before you leave.
The route runs through the city center of ’s-Hertogenbosch and passes, among others, Stationsplein, Vughterstraat, Achter het Stadhuis, the Theater aan de Parade, St. John’s Cathedral, Museum Slager, Hinthamerstraat, Zuid-Willemsvaart, Orthenstraat, and Visstraat. The route may change due to roadworks, for example.

Yes, thanks to the track & trace system, you can see where the bus is driving at that moment. This is handy if you want to hop on along the way or estimate when the next bus will pass by.

No, the city bus does not pass the park-and-ride (transferia) locations. If you come by car, you can park at a transferium and travel to the center by shuttle bus. In the city center, you can then flag down the city bus as soon as you see it.
Service dogs are always allowed. Small lap dogs are allowed if they are on a leash and stay on your lap. Other dogs are not permitted.
Walkers can only be taken along if they can be folded. Unfortunately, wheelchairs cannot be taken along because the buses are not equipped for them and the drivers are not certified for that.
